When We All Vote

When We All Vote was launched in 2018 by Michelle Obama in response to low voter turnout among young people and people of color. During Halley’s 2.5 years at When We All Vote, she had the immense privilege of being a part of its launch and watch it become the largest non-partisan effort in the United States helping Americans vote in the 2020 elections.

Halley held various roles at the organization, including Associate Director of Digital Strategy, where she started the social media accounts. She was later promoted to Deputy Director of Digital Strategy where she ran the email marketing program as well as hired and managed two interns per semester.

She planned the social media and email content calendars and regularly wrote copy for emails, petitions, social media, graphics, and videos. Specifically, Halley broke down complicated topics in graphics and videos, such as criminal justice, to make young people more interested in voting. When the pandemic hit, her agile team pivoted to educating people about how to vote by mail, a process which differs across 50 states, through graphics and videos as well. This became some of the highest performing content during the 2020 election cycle.

Halley’s team also worked closely with other departments to create and publish promotional materials for in-person and online events with high profile celebrities.
